USAP: What an Achievement!

USAP entered a contest sponsored by NAFSA: Association of International Educators for 5-minute videos exploring innovations in international education. Our video, called USAP: What an Achievement was selected as one of the five finalists from over 90 entries. The winning video will be announced and shown on the 29th of May, 2013 at the NAFSA annual conference plenary in front of 8000+ people before Kofi Annan speaks. Fingers crossed! Student Experiences Life At A Homeless Shelter

Aubrey Magodlyo, Zimbabwean USAP first year student at Franklin College in Indiana, spent his January term in an experiential learning class about the intercity. As part of this initiative, Aubrey lived in a homeless shelter for a week, in an effort to understand the root causes of homelessness and the experiences of the homeless. EucationUSAEducational Advisors who run USAP are all part of the EducationUSA network administered by the US Department of State's Educational and Cultural Affairs Division. EducationUSA advisors work out of Fulbright Commissions, US Embassies, bi-national centers, and non-profit educational organizations.

In the past few years, the Opportunity Fund provided by ECA has provided USAP students in Brazil, Ecuador, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe with funds for their standardized tests, immunizations, visa fees, and air tickets.
